Alina Bzhezhinska

Amadeus Duo (flute and harp) was formed as a result of Lady Aberdeen's 90th birthday celebrations!

As a tribute to the respected Lady, June Gordon, a large-scale concert, (November, 2003) involving members of many choral societies in the North East performed one of her favourite pieces, The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar.

At rehearsals for the concert, Polish harpist Alina Bzhezhinska met up with Aberdeen Sinfonietta musician Margaret Preston (flute). The players hit it off immediately and decided to get together to perform one of the great masterpieces of the classical repertoire, Mozart Concerto for flute and harp.

They have now performed in several venues to great critical acclaim. Their concerts are appreciated for their imaginative programming, featuring an eclectic mix of classical music, Scottish music and new works of North East composers. They performed to capacity audiences in Scottish Parliament, the Polish Institute in Edinburgh, and the Cowdray Hall, Aberdeen.
