Apollo’s Banquet is the first Aberdeen-based ensemble to play eighteenth-century music on period instruments. The inspiration behind the name derives from the Temple of Apollo music room at Cairness House, Aberdeenshire, designed by the eighteenth-century architect James Playfair.

The musicians play on original low-pitch, eighteenth-century instruments and modern replicas, performing baroque and traditional music of elegance, grace and charm.

The Ensemble offers evening and lunchtime recital programmes, lecture recitals, informal concerts, and music to accompany ceremonies or other events.

"…an evening at Cairness that was a voyage of discovery as well as a rare musical treat" - (Press & Journal review of a concert at Cairness House on 21 August 1999)
